The following exploratory study investigated the extent to which rider-related factors are associated with the type of horse-human relationship and horse-friendly riding based on specialist knowledge, and whether there are differences depending on certain group characteristics. To answer the research questions in the context of a quantitative cross-sectional study, both correlation analyses and difference analyses (mean comparisons) were used. The results show, among other things, positive correlations between self-esteem and horsefriendly riding as well as a better horse-human relationship.
