How can one learn to better understand the perplexing world of the dementia patient? How does one deal empathetically with difficult behaviour in everyday situations? The method of “validation” has proved to be efficacious in such situations: It demonstrates how to approach confused elderly persons with understanding. Professional carers have been using this method for a long time and have come to appreciate ist value. Using this book, relatives, neighbours and friends caring for a dementia patient can learn about this method.
