Summary: The post school situation of former special class pupils with learning and behaviour problems becomes more and more difficult with regard to the integration into the vocational and professional world. The vocational training still follows a traditionalpath, i.e. “linear”models of vocational education and formation are still predominant: A long succession of vocational orientation courses during the last school years is followed by various measures of professional preparation and continued with an assisted vocational formation either in a sheltered setting for handicapped people or in the open market. In view of the fact, that not all the adolescents are sufficiently motivated for a further, subsequently following phase of education and formation, all chances have to be seized. For instance the young people could be securely positioned in the labourmarket before they start a further formation on the basis of their new learning and achievement motivation. Yet for this purpose specific information on regional and supra-regional niche jobs is required. The article gives a description of the development of an instrument for the systematic search of such information.
