Morology On the Unpopularity of a Popular Construct

Summary: In special education, the orientation by a specific symptomatology is considered as something “dishonourable” which seems to ask for excuses by adding quotation marks or restrictive remarks. This is due to the broad range of pupils with special educational needs. But if the ethic-normative aspect is regarded as the specific reference point of special education, special educational acting cannot be a simple necessity, it has to be based on a special educational attitude. – The connection with other sciences is only possible by acknowledging and discussing the standards of social and humanity sciences as well as theoretically based and empirically proven category systems. To demonstrate the possibilities of connecting with scientific categories with reference to the child development, the author refers in a provocative way to the construct “morology”.
