Summary: Economically, socially and culturally deprived children and youths need educational institutions and programmes that help them to handle their life history, their actual life situation and their limited future perspectives. They rely on specialists and laypersons who make common cause with them – also in their own interest. However it is more important to generate „well-educated circumstances“ instead of „well-educated individuals“. A politically responsible pedagogy has to practice this policy in a effective way in public and it has to provide the appropriate range of resources.
