The Significance of Open Education for Physically Impaired Pupils – A Critical Reflection
2006, 131-143
Summary: At present, forms of open education are considered as methods of the choice. The author refers to problematic areas of this approach with regard to the education of physically impaired children. A turning away from open education towards self-regulative learning – with the focus on organisational opening – is discussed and the author demonstrates that open education is possible for all physically impaired children – not in the sense of self-contained action and teacher-independent working but in the sense of self-determined and self-regulative learning. This kind of education is not bound to so-called key competences.
Keywords: Open education, self-regulation, physical impairment
