Sensitivity Training and Interaction-Oriented Interventions in Premature Infants’ Aftercare

Summary: Interaction-oriented interventions with premature infants and their parents are presented, in particular the sensitivity training which is based on attachment theory. Theoretical considerations and empirical evidence are reviewed. Regarding attachment-based early interventions, there are more studies on sensitivity trainings than on representational approaches, yet referring to premature infant aftercare further empirical evidence is needed. Summing up actual results, hints for clinical use of attachment-based early interventions are developed.
