Kommunikationsförderung und Sprachanbahnung bei Kindern mit globaler Entwicklungsstörung
Communication Training and Language Initiation for Children with Global Developmental Delay
2010, 51-61
Summary: Beside retarded motoric and cognitive development, children with global developmental delay often feature difficulties in language acquisition. Due to the key function of linguistic skills for the emotional, social and cognitive development, early training of communication and language is outstanding important. Particularly promising for young children are everyday life integrated concepts, in which parents are involved as most important attachment figures and communication partners and are teached in application of specific language teaching strategies and vocal providing gestures. Based on the broad acceptance and proved effectiveness of the “Heidelberg parent-based Language Intervention for children with specific expressive language delay” a specific concept for parents of children with global developmental delay has been developed and evaluated since 2007. At present this parent-based language intervention is tested for effectiveness in the context of a randomized controlled evaluation study.
