Prevention and Resilience Encouragement in Child Day Care
Training manual for teachers

Encouraging children playfully
In kindergarten, children who learn to overcome smaller and greater crises independently gain social competence and deal with stress in a relaxed way. Who would not want that for their child? Can one systematically encourage such skills? The authors of this book are convinced one can and present a training programme that can be applied in any child day-care facility.
In the first part of the book, the authors describe central elements of the concept of "resilience" - such as self-perception and exogenic perception, self-efficacy, self-regulation, coping with stress and problem-solving competency. In the second part, practitioners will find games, exercises and suggestions for materials for training with children. With 20 exercise units, any teacher can start with the training in small groups; the material is suitable for children from 4 to 6. A great deal of experience went into the development of this programme; it has been repeatedly validated and scientifically tested.
